Lagos begins employment training for 1,000 youths

The Lagos State Ministry of Youth and Social Development has begun employment training for 1,000 youths in the state.
The state’s Commissioner for Youth and Social Development, Uzamat Akinbile, disclosed this  while speaking on the coming second edition of the Youth Interactive Forum, with the  theme: “ Lagos Youth Development Forum: Challenges and Opportunities”
Akinbile said the employability training for the over 1,000 youths kick started the activities of third quarter of the ministry.
While speaking on  the forum, she said to forum is to build relationship with stakeholders that are youth driven, in order to work as a team in promoting and developing the youth.
She said  the forum which would come up by June 30, would address youth restiveness and inter-street cultism practised among youths which has led to increase in crime rate in the state.
“The objective of this forum is to form synergy with non-governmental organizations, charity homes, philanthropists and other stakeholders with the aim of brain storming on the menaces biting harder on the youths and proffering solutions to their challenges,” she added.
Also speaking the founder of Yomi Otubela Foundation, partnering with the ministry on youth empowerment, Otunba Yomi Otubela said the forum would entertain the challenges affecting youths and also serves as a panacea to the menace of  youth restiveness.
