A Lagos resident, Mr Samuel Alozie, has called on the relevant authorities to investigate the deaths of his nine-month-old twin sons, Testimony and Timothy. They reportedly died less than 24 hours after receiving routine immunisation at a government health facility in Lagos.

Mr Alozie said the twins were taken to the Ajangbadi Primary Health Centre in the Ajangbadi area of Ojo Local Government Area on December 24, 2025 for their scheduled vaccinations, saying the children were healthy and active prior to the visit.

According to him, shortly after the immunisation, the twins became unusually weak, stopped feeding and appeared distressed. He said the nurse who attended to them advised the parents to give the babies paracetamol and cooling baths, explaining that the reaction was normal after vaccination.

He, however, said the condition of the children deteriorated as the night progressed. Mr Alozie disclosed that both infants died in the early hours of December 25, less than a day after they were immunised.

The father has raised concerns over the vaccines administered to the twins, alleging possible negligence, wrong dosage or the use of expired drugs. He also claimed that the children were given de-worming medication without his prior consent or adequate explanation.

Mr Alozie further alleged that officials at the health centre suggested that food contamination may have caused the deaths, a claim he strongly rejected, insisting that the twins had been feeding normally and had not shown any sign of illness before the hospital visit.

He appealed to the Lagos State Ministry of Health and other relevant agencies to carry out a transparent investigation into the incident and ensure accountability where necessary. He also called for legal and human rights support, saying he does not have the financial capacity to pursue justice on his own.

However, at the time of filing this report, there has not been any official response from the Lagos State health authorities.
