Lagos, firm centralise health records

The Lagos State Government and Interswitch eClat have partnered to centralise the state’s residents’ health records into a single platform called Lagos State Health Information Platform (SHIP).

The duo signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to improve the digitalisation of SHIP in June.

Unveiling the digital framework of SHIP, the state’ Commissioner for Health, Prof Akin Abayomi, yesterday, said the platform was designed to connect patients to healthcare providers with their medical records easily accessible.

He said, “This phase of the SHIP will create an interconnectivity between all our general hospitals and primary healthcare facilities, alongside the Ministry of Health in a manner in which all of them will be interconnected.’’

Interswitch eClat’s Managing Director, Wallace Ogufere, stressed the firm’s commitment to digitally revolutionise the state’s health information gathering.
