KingMakers has handed over a 150-capacity sports complex to the Ifako Ijaiye Local Government in Lagos to promote grassroots sports competition.

The new sports facility housed a football pitch with lighting for evening use, a green relaxation area, restrooms, two administrative office spaces, a generator house for uninterrupted operations, ample parking space, and robust water infrastructure.

Speaking at the commissioning, the Chief Executive Officer, KingMakers, Gossy Ukanwoke stressed the importance of sports, describing it as a tool to foster social cohesion and improve the well-being of the youths in the community.

“This project embodies our core belief that sports are more than just competition; it is a vehicle for social transformation, unity, and empowerment. At KingMakers, we are intentional about investing in initiatives that have long-term impact, and the Ifako Ijaiye Sports Complex is one such example of our commitment to supporting the communities we operate in.

“We are proud to work alongside visionary partners like the Ifako Ijaiye Local Government to deliver infrastructure that inspires young people, promotes physical wellness, and provides a pathway to excellence,” he said.

The Chairman, Ifako Ijaiye Local Government, Prince Usman Akanbi Hamzat appreciated the firm, stressing on the power of Public Private Partnership (PPP) to support the government just as the Director General, Lagos State Sports Commission (LSSC) Lekan Fatodu urged the residents to maintain the facility, acknowledging the effort of the private sector to rejuvenate sports infrastructure.
