Market women in the South have cried out and called on the Nigerian government to intervene as the blockade that led to acute scarcity of food and vegetables in the southern part of Nigeria was biting hard.
The blockade resulted in a drastic increase in the prices of food stuff.

The ban was lifted after the intervention of Governor Yahaya Bello of Kogi State.
