Lagos State government’s mobile court has so far prosecuted 1,107 traffic violators and those who constitute environment nuisances since its establishment in February, 2016.
The state’s Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Mr. Adeniji Kazeem disclosed this during  ministerial press briefing to mark one year in office of Governor Akinwunmi Ambode.
The commissioner stated that the mobile court was established to institutionally react to identified societal challenges.
According to him, the court has been operating in accordance with the rules of natural justice by the constitutional provision of fair hearing.
“The mobile court was vested with the power to sit at any convenient place close to the scene of the commission of any offence triable by it,” He added.
Kazeem also said that the ministry has embarked on the use of Crime Data Register (CDR) which is an electronic system of gathering information about suspects and offenders to combat criminal activities in state.
According to him, the ministry had in the last one year  attended to over 250 cases which includes domestic violence, child abuse, attempted rape and defilement.
