Situated along the Lekki-Epe expressway, Akin Sateru Farms became operational a couple of months ago as part of effort to boost fish production in the country.
Oba Sateru said the mission of the farm is to increase the protein in-take of Nigerians and assist them enjoy longer, healthier, proactive living, provide employment opportunities for young vibrant Nigerians and professionals.
Commenting on the ultra-modern plant, Lagos State Commissioner for Agriculture and Co-operatives, Prince Gbolahan Lawal, commended the traditional ruler for having time to establish such a fish plant out of his busy schedules as a king.
He said the state government will not relent in the quest to assist farmers with fishing gear to boost fish production, adding that recently, the government has assisted one of the co-operatives in fish production in Badagry with outboard engines, fishing nets, boats and other inputs.
“Lagos State Government is committed to assisting farmers in the state to boost food production and eliminate hunger, he added.”
