The initial restriction is between 8am and 5 pm; however Mbu said the extension to 8pm is to sustain the tempo of the peace, stressing that any recalcitrant citizens would be dealt with.

He said he would not tolerate any act of injury on his officers, just as he vowed to sanction Divisional Police Officers, who fail to provide adequate escorts to INEC officials

Two people were shot when youths blocked distribution of electoral materials in Danmusa Local Government Area of Katsina State.  INEC officer of Danmusa, Itachu Godwin said all was set for the exercise “but PDP thugs have been blocking efforts to distribute election materials”.
