Lagos residents have cried over harassment by hoodlums in the Oju-Irin area around the Agege Railway Bridge in Lagos State.
The residents said the community was fast becoming a hotbed of criminal activities, accusing the hoodlums of theft and forceful demand of money.
A victim, Saheed Jaguna, said, “The area isn’t safe and there are miscreants that harass people.
“I’ve had experiences dealing with some of the miscreants. You see them hanging around to harass you at any given moment.”

Another resident, simply identified as Sarah, said, “I fear for my safety every time I pass through this area. We need the government and security agencies to take action and restore peace to the community.”
The Commander of Orile Agege Baramole Crime Fighters, Major Ikudaisi Aka, said that the crime fighters had not rested on their oars to abate the unrest despite their lack of arms.
He said, “We collaborate with various security agencies, including the police and civil defence, to tackle insecurity.”
