Wellington College International has become the first private school with a 50-metre swimming pool and a standardsize rugby pitch sited in its newly launched branch in Lagos.

Th e 12.5-hectare campus also houses an indoor sports complex, multi-purpose outdoor sport courts, a 400-metre track and field pitch.

Speaking at the launch, Managing Director, Wellington College International, Paresh Th akrar, emphasised on the need for investment in sports, describing it as a key prerequisite to unlock economic growth.

He stated that the launch of the school in Lagos was aimed at expanding worldclass British education into Africa “Wellington College International Lagos sets a new benchmark for education on the continent, drawing on the strength of our global family of schools to deliver a transformative 21st-century education that equips young people to thrive and to help serve and shape a better world,” he said.
