Managing Director of the State Parks and Gardens (LASPARK) Dr.  Titi Anibaba made this known during  an interactive session with members of Lagos State Governor’s Office Correspondents (LAGOCO) as  part of their activities to mark this year’s Press Week.
According to Dr. Anibaba, the proposed park, which is designed in line with international standard, will be sited on a four hectare of land with a zoo and other facilities in a conventional park.
The LASPARK boss who explained that the Metropolitan Park was going to be a sort of flagship park in the state said plans were already been implemented for the establishment of community  parks in all the 20 Local Government Areas and 37 Local Council Development Areas (LCDA) with seven of them already delivered.
She said about 300 landscaped sites lost to Right of Way in different parts of the state had been recovered while more than  five million trees had been planted in the last seven years.
Dr. Anibaba pointed out that arrangements were being made to digitize all the facilities for ease of access while wi-fi had been installed to provide free internet services in all public parks in the state as part of effort to ensure an atmosphere of total relaxation.
