Making this disclosure at a press conference held at the Teslim Balogun Stadium, Surulere, Lagos, Executive Secretary of the League, Mr. Taofik Bello, said four playing grounds have been selected for the league.

According to him, the teams will be grouped into four geographical zones at the qualifier level and that Agege Stadium, Onikan Stadium, Legacy pitch and Campo Square have been selected to host the matches.

“We are assuring our spectators and players of maximum security as adequate budget have been approved. Also the competition would be one of the best. This would be the first of its kind in Nigeria,” he said.

The league will commence on September 18 at the Teslim Balogun Stadium, Surulere, Lagos, and will run for a period of nine months.

Bello said five teams from each of the four zones will qualify for the Premier League division, which will commence in July 2011, while the second five top teams in the zones will play in League 1, League 2 and League 3.

Players to feature in the league, according to Bello, must have good educational background and be of 20 years and below, just as he warned that age cheat will be seriously sanctioned.
