At least 80 football coaches in Ekiti State have been trained by LaLiga Nigeria, in conjunction with the Ekiti State Football Association.
The training included seminar and practical rudiments of modern day football techniques by former Super Eagles midfielder and La Liga Brand Ambassador in Nigeria, Mutiu Adepoju.
The Head of LaLiga Nigeria and Ghana, Desmond Chibi, commended Ekiti FA for the organization of the event, promising further support for the state FA.
“It’s the desire of LaLiga to create a lot of opportunities for Nigerian young talents.”
In his speech, the Chairman, Ekiti State Football Association, Bayou Olanlege, promised more initiatives for various stakeholders in the state.
Olanlege urged the participants to make use of the knowledge gained at the modern day training with La Liga to train young talents at the grassroots, saying there would be evaluation of the coaches very soon.
Other resource persons included Ayodeji Adegbenro, project coordinator, Dr. Tunde Akinbinu, member NFF Medical Committee and Desmond Chiji, Laliga Nigeria.
All the 80 participants were presented with certificates at the end of the training.
