Plateau State Governor, Simon Lalong, has expressed optimism that the All Progressives Congress (APC) will emerge victorious in the Presidential and National Assembly elections.
The governor spoke after casting his vote yesterday at his polling unit in Ajikamai, Shendam Local Government Area of the state.
Lalong, who is running for the Senatorial seat of Plateau South District after serving his second and last tenure as the governor, is the Director General of the APC Presidential Campaign Council.
He said he was highly impressed with the turnout of voters in various polling units he sighted on his way to vote as well as from reports he has been receiving across the state.

Peaceful polls, massive turnout in Gombe
According to him, the elections have been peaceful as there is no report available to him of any threat to the exercise in the state.
He commended the people of Plateau for their enthusiasm and peaceful conduct which he said affirms their maturity in politics, stressing that people should avoid anything that will cause a breach of the peace throughout the voting process and results.
