Kafin-Hausa was created 1976. It was one out of the eight (8) local governments that were carved out (moved) from old Kano state to present day, Jigawa state. Kafin-Hausa was also one of the oldest and most populated local government areas even in old Kano-State. The present Auyo and Kaugama local government areas in the state were carved out from Kafin-Hausa local government, and even some parts of Malam-Madori and Kiri-Kasamma local governments were also from Kafin-Hausa. One disturbing thing is, despite all these, Kafin-Hausa has no single state institution talkless of Federal, but, all the other seven LGA has one institution or the other.  It was recently His Excellency, Alhaji Sule Lamido  the Jigawa state governor, for his prudence and genuine intention and equitable mind as a visionary, dedicated and selfless leader open a new chapter in the history of Kafin-Hausa LGA, Hadejia senatorial district, state in particular and  beyond, by given them state university.
The other seven LGA inherited from Kano has one institution or the other. Hadejia has School of Agriculture, there is state college of Education in Gumel, in Ringim  there is School of Legal Studies, while Duste has Federal university and State Polytechnic; Birnin- Kudu has school of nursing and Mid-wifery, and in Kauzaure there are school of Informative studies (I.C.T) and Federal Polytechnic, and in Jahun there is School of Health Technology respectively. So, why allocating this institute to Kafin-Hausa will make others show hostility? Requesting for additional or relocating of this state university may be others turn to that, so as to balance it at equilibrium.
I may not wrong if I say Governor Sule Lamido is the most successful of all governors that held sway in Jigawa state since the creation of the state in 1991. I congratulate him for the job well-done, in infrastructural development, women and youth empowerment, supply of portable water, health care delivery, electricity, road construction and reconstructions. Of course, Lamido is very much tying in educational development. You know, when ever Nigerians gather to discuss the state of education in the country, we all seem to reach a consensus rather hurriedly, that our educational system has deteriorated for long, but in Jigawa, the case is different.
In his efforts to see Jigawa as part of globalized era and Jigawa must drive by knowledge. That is why Lamido’s gives education priority and also allocated a lot of amount in his budget every year to education. New Schools were built; some were renovated, staffed and are well equipped with functional libraries and laboratories. Classrooms have modern instructional technologies. You will find out computers were connected to the internet, projectors, auto-video and conferencing equipment are all available.
Teachers cannot perform miracles without necessary teaching and learning tools, that were why, they are provided frequently and distributed everywhere in the state. The welfare of staff is one area that Lamido will or must be commended. Salaries and other entitlement are paid promptly. Scholarship is awarded.  Training and re-training of staff are all in place regularly all in order to improve and keep the staff up to date.  I agree with Samuel M. Lindsay, who once said “The quality of education and the level of educational attainment of a people determine the quality of its leaders and people”   I extol Lamido for sending many Jigawa indigenes to study abroad in different areas of specializations in order to take Jigawa to a greater height.
I can vividly and confidently canvass for Lamido to contest as president of Nigeria come 2015. Also one of the major factors that made Lamido to achieve all these is the good working relationship between the executive and the legislators under the able leadership of Alhaji Adamu Ahmed Sarawa (Atamos).
I will use this medium to appeal to his Excellency, Alhaji Alhaji Sule Lamido, the Jigawa state governor to continue the good things he is doing also to bear any criticisms and problems that might have your way. as a leader and old strong politician. You know, if you are doing the right things, people will try to distract you, but you have to forge ahead. As for my fellow indigenes and other citizens, we need to pull ourselves together and avoid rancour. We must form a collective will, reconcile and resolve to move forward believing in God Almighty, for peaceful co-existence, societal changes, and political stability, mutual-understanding and national development. May God help us and guide our leaders aright. Amen.
