An FCT High Court has awarded the sum of N10 million in damages against the Federal Capital Development Authority (FCDA) over the revocation of land title belonging to Alexander Shaiyen.

In a ruling delivered on February 16 by Justice A.O. Ebong, the court awarded the sum of N3.8m as cost of the action against the FCDA and the others over the revocation.

The judge ruled that the purported revocation of the plot No 588 Gwarinpa 1, Cadastral Zone CO2, Abuja is null, and void and of no effect, “same not having done in accordance with requirement of the law.”

The judge held that that revocation of the plot amounted to trespass because the plaintiff’s title on the plot is still subsisting.

Shaiyen, had through his counsel, Abang Odok-Ogar had in 2015 challenged the Minister of the FCT, FCDA, and one Abubakar Bamali Aliyu over the revocation of his plot without due process.
