Landlord charged for locking out tenant

A 43-year-old landlord, Ayodeji Talabi, on Wednesday, appeared before a Surulere magistrates’ court, Lagos, for locking out his tenant.

Talabi, of No 191 Mushin Road, Itire, Lagos, was charged with “conduct likely to cause the breach of peace”.

The prosecutor, Insp Courage Ekhueorohan, told the court that the defendant committed the offence on April 22, at about 6pm at No 191, Mushin Road, Itire, Lagos.

He said the landlord locked out one Onyinye Nwachukwu and her children, while her tenancy was still running.

The magistrate, Mrs Iyabo Dan-Oni, granted the defendant bail in the sum of N100,000 with one surety in like sum and adjourned the case to May 13. (NAN)
