LASG unveils ‘Kampus Stars’ TV reality show

The Lagos State Government has unveiled a television reality show tagged ‘Kampus Stars’ to address youth restiveness and make the state a hub of talented youths.

Mrs Uzamat Akinbile-Yusuf, the state Commissioner for Tourism, Arts and Culture, during the unveiling ceremony in Alausa, Ikeja, said the project would help discover talented and creative minds in various higher institutions of learning.

She said the project was a reality show with a difference that would help Nigerian youths channel their energy into positive use.

Akinbile-Yusuf said the show was organised in conjunction with Content Warehouse Ltd.

“We are using this programme to further build on the inherent creativity of the people of Lagos and establish the state as a vibrant and innovative tourism destination that diversifies the economy, creates jobs across multiple tourism segments and offers the world access to the ingenuity and hospitality of the residents,” she said.

Akinbile-Yusuf said that Gov. Babajide Sanwo-Olu, as a lover of youths, gives premium attention to youth related initiatives, especially through capacity development exemplified by the event.

Akinbile-Yusuf said the aim was to transform youth restiveness into productive venture, adding that the youths accounted for over 65 per cent of the nation’s population.

“As we all know, the youths are the strength and vigour of a society.

“We believe that youths are not only the future of tomorrow in Lagos State and must be carried along in our developmental plans to achieve the needed balance in our society.

“In addition to the fun among the participants, the programme will further endear our youths to using their immeasurable intelligence and creativity into initiating a better life, which is part of the dream and vision of our governor,” Akinbile-Yusuf said.

Earlier, a renowned movie producer, Tade Ogidan, Head, Technical Crew for the project, explained the modalities for the entire reality show. (NAN)
