The chairman of Law Officers Association of Nigeria (LOAN), Abuja branch, Mr. Yusuf Abdullahi AbdulKadir has said that the association is set to hold a conference to bring to their law officers in the FCT and 36 states ministries of Justice, legal experts and luminaries, human rights activists and other interested participants to network and share information; provide a continuing legal education platform on emerging legal issues especially in the area of ongoing fight against corruption and to strengthen their resolve towards uplifting the dignity of the public bar.
According to him, the conference with the theme “The role of law officers in the fight against corruption” slated for 13th – 17th of November will expose participating officers to the legal and institutional framework on anti-corruption including a robust training on AML/ FCT regime in Nigeria.
Yusuf noted that legal practitioners have a great role to play in ensuring that corruption and other related crimes get fair hearing in law courts as well as entrenching social justice.
