Governor Dauda Lawal of Zamfara State has approved the appointment of Professor Ibrahim Abdullahi Tsafe as the new Vice-Chancellor (VC) of the Zamfara State University, Talata Mafara (ZAMSUT), for a single five-year term. Governor Lawal expressed confidence that the new VC would deploy his experience and academic expertise to reposition the university in line with the administration’s commitment to education and academic excellence.
In a statement, the Senior Special Assistant on Media to the Office of the Secretary to the State Government, Suleman Ahmad Tudu, said the Secretary to the State Government, Malam Abubakar Mohammad Nakwada, explained that the appointment followed the recommendations of the university’s governing council.
Professor Tsafe obtained his PhD in 2006 and was promoted to the rank of professor in 2013 by the Usmanu Danfodiyo University, Sokoto (UDUS). He served in various administrative capacities, including Dean of the Faculty of Chemical and Life Sciences at UDUS.
He was a visiting professor at ZAMSUT in 2018 and currently serves as the Dean of the Faculty of Science.
