The Eagles have struggled in midfield since the exit of the likes of ‘Jay Jay’ Okocha and Sunday Oliseh and many see the call-up of Olympic international as one of the efforts to remedy this problem.

The Athletico Beleares of Spain midfielder said though he is flattered to be compared to great players like Okocha and Oliseh, he cannot be any of them because they were in a class of their own.

He would rather make his own name for others to emulate.

“I am highly flattered to be compared with great players of Okocha and Oliseh calibre. I am not in Eagles to replace them because they were in a class of their own. I admire them and they did a lot for the team,” he said.

“I can’t be any of the two players, I just want to be myself, Raheem Lawal. I want to do my best in Eagles and make a name for myself.”

He also said he was excited as he will reunite in the Eagles squad for the Peru friendly with players like Nnamdi Oduamadi and Nwankwo Obiora, who he has already played with at U20 and Olympic levels.

“It will be great to get together with them again. We had a great time in the U20s and U23s. It would be great to me with them again and make things happen in the Eagles. They are great guys
