 Lawan donated 100 bags of rice, 100 bags of semovita, 100 pieces of wrappers, gallons of groundnut oil, bags of salt, amongst others to victims in Jere. Lawan also gave out some food items to policemen. He said the items were meant for personnel of the Divisional police headquarters in old Maiduguri, which was set ablaze during the crises.

Lawan, who led a high-powered delegation, comprising all elected and appointed public office holders and ANPP leaders of Jere to commiserate with the Borno state government, described the incident as terrifying. He commiserated with the government, victims and the entire populace while he prayed for peace and stability in the state and the generality of Nigeria.

The lawmaker advocated for massive youth empowerment to fight youth restiveness, unemployment and growing poverty, maintaining that a lot of youths become vulnerable to crises when they have nothing doing. He pledged to do anything within his powers with regards to youth empowerment.

He called on his supporters and the entire citizens of the state to join hands with government in the reconstruction of the state.

In a related development, Senator Kaka Malam Yale, representing Borno central in the national assembly has donated N500,000.00 to assist persons who sustained injuries during the recent crisis now undergoing treatment at the University of Maiduguri Teaching Hospital in Maiduguri .

Yale gave the donation after he went round the hospital beds of the victims numbering about fifty, most of them with gunshot wound and broken legs.. He said the money was meant to assist in medication and other related needs of the victims. The senator commiserated with them and prayed for their speedy recovery. He condemned the crises and hopes that such trend doesn’t re-occur in any part of Nigeria and the world at large.
