A member representing Disina state Constituency of Bauchi State House of Assembly, Sale Hodi, has donated the sum of N10, 000 each to 120 petty traders from various wards in his constituency as part of his social responsibility to boost businesses.

Speaking during the presentation of the donation to the beneficiaries at weekend in Shira, Hodi said the gesture was aimed at empowering the beneficiaries and boosting their businesses to enhance economic activities of the area and the state in general.

The lawmaker also disclosed that he donated the sum of N30, 000 to each of the 92 polling units in the district for the execution of minor community works and promised to extend the gesture to women in the second phase of the empowerment programme with the token amount of N5, 000 each to start small businesses so that they can be self reliant.

Speaker of the Bauchi State house of assembly, Abubakar Suleiman, who is the special guest of honour at the event, hailed the lawmaker for the gesture.

Suleiman said elected politicians were duty bound to give back to their constituents through good legislation and constituency projects.
