Senator Babangida Hussaini attended the graduation of 20 constituents who completed a Bags and Shoe Making programme at the Nigerian Institute of Leather and Science Technology (NILEST), Zaria.

The training programme focused on equipping participants with practical skills in leatherwork and small-scale production. According to information shared at the event, similar trainings were supported last year, with some beneficiaries reportedly establishing small businesses afterward.

At the graduation ceremony, the senator distributed machines and other materials to the participants to enable them to begin production. The items provided are intended to help bridge the gap between training and business start-up.

Senator Hussaini, who serves as Chairman of the Senate Committee on the North-West Development Commission, said the initiative forms part of efforts to promote skills development and enterprise in Jigawa North-West.

He stated that the objective of the programme is to support young people in developing practical skills that can translate into income-generating activities.

The event took place at NILEST, Zaria, and was attended by beneficiaries and other stakeholders.
