A total of 109 unemployed women and youths from Anaocha, Njikoka and Dunukofia in Anambra State have been empowered with different skills and a N50,000 take-off grant by the member representing the constituency at the National Assembly, Mr Dozie Nwankwo.

The beneficiaries, drawn from the 54 wards of the constituency, were trained on the production of liquid soaps, detergents, disinfectants, shampoos, perfumes among others.

Speaking while presenting the certificates of training to the participants, Nwankwo said the programme was to help young people to become financially independent. He said he would soon commence the building of an ICT centre and e-library in the constituency so as to fully empower the people of the area.

Some of the beneficiaries, Izuchukwu Nwoye from Ifitedunu and Ijeoma Igboanugo from Enugwu-Ukwu, expressed joy as they took turns to demonstrate what they were taught during the training.
