Lawmaker expands education, infrastructure projects

Hon. Akarachi Etinosa Amadi, the lawmaker representing Mbaitoli/Ikeduru Federal Constituency of Imo State in the House of Representatives, has sponsored 38 bills since assuming office while also implementing education and infrastructure projects across the constituency.

The bills, according to available records, address areas such as youth empowerment, economic development, education, infrastructure and governance reforms.

Among his constituency initiatives is a programme that provides free registration for students writing the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) examination. The scheme, currently in its fifth edition, targets students across Mbaitoli and Ikeduru.

Organisers say students who score 200 and above in the examination may qualify for scholarship support to study in federal or state universities.

Amadi has also initiated a solar-powered street lighting project known as Operation Light Up Mbaike, aimed at improving lighting in communities with limited public electricity supply.

Under the first phase of the project, about 2,500 solar street lights have been installed across 23 autonomous communities in Mbaitoli and Ikeduru.

The lawmaker has also organised constituency engagement forums known as “Meet Your Representative,” where residents and community leaders discuss issues affecting the area. Education support, youth development and infrastructure remain among the focus areas of his constituency activities.
