The Senate Deputy Majority Whip, Senator Francis Alimikhen, has flagged off emergency rehabilitation of N450 million Ugbeno-Ayogwiri-Fugar-Agenebode road.
Alimikhena, representing ( All Progressive Congress ) Edo North Senatorial District, said the repairs of the seven kilometres road was in fulfillment of his electoral promises.
He said the repairs would ameliorate the challenges being faced by motorists and commuters on the road which linked two local government areas.
He however advised the people of the two communities to give the contractors handling the road project the maximum support to ensure its timely completion.
He said, “It is my expectation that the contractors would deliver quality work and complete the projects on schedule.”
On his part, the contractor handling the project, Shifodunrin Ayodele, assured that the rehabilitation of the road would be completed within three weeks as all the necessary equipments are already on site, while appealing for the cooperation of the host communities to meet the target date.
A resident of the area, Jimoh Abdul, who spoke on the development commended the senator for initiating the projects which he said would impact positively on the socio-economic well-being of the area.
