While presenting the vehicle which is meant to patrol all the nooks and crannies of the council, Adeniyi said his decision to repair the vehicle was borne out of the desire to make the police functional in the area.

“The decision to repair the vehicle is to make the police proactive in my area. I am very confident that the vehicle will assist in a very big way to reduce the crime rate in my area to the barest minimum,” he said.

He charged the men of the police division to use the vehicle judiciously as he also promised to be responsible for the repair of the vehicle for a period of three months. “I want to challenge the police to be more dedicated to duty. They should do their job without levity. If any of my family members commits any heinous crime, they should not hesitate to deal with such person ruthlessly.”

Hon Adeniyi who won the by-election to represent the people of Akure North State Constituency in the state’s parliament about four months ago, also promised to be responsible for the fueling of the vehicle on a monthly basis

The Ondo State Police Commissioner, Bala Magaji Nasarawa, while receiving the key of the repaired vehicle, said the command is determined to flush out criminally minded people from hideouts in all the 18 local government councils in the state.

Represented by the Acting Area Commander of the Command, Mrs Janet Agbede, the police commissioner appealed to the people of the state to always furnish the police with necessary information about criminals’  and their hideouts.
