Bauchi State Governor Bala Mohammed and a member of the House of Representatives, Yakubu Shehu Abdullahi, are trading words over the demolition of the lawmaker’s house.

On Independence Day, a house said to be owned by the lawmaker in the GRA area of the state was demolished.

Spokesman of Governor Bala Mohammed, Comrade Mukhtar Gidado, said the lawmaker embarked on the construction of the house without the required approval from relevant government authorities.

He said despite the ‘stop work’ order to the lawmaker, he continued with the building of the house.

But the lawmaker alleged that the governor demolished his house for political victimisation over his refusal to follow him to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). He denied receiving a ‘stop work’ order or revocation order.
