ASFF said public and stakeholders’ awareness will eventually pave way for the amendment of the constitution on capital punishment.
Kola Ogunbiyi, the legal manager of the Saving Lives (SALI) project disclosed this at the third sensitisation workshop of the agency in Abuja yesterday. He said though the ASSF has not sent any memorandum on abolition of capital punishment to the ongoing National Conference or the National Assembly, it will continue to advocate for alternative measures for the punishment of offenders.
