Uzor Kalu

A Coalition of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Human Rights Lawyer has asked Justice Mohammed Idris of a Federal High Court, Abuja, to fastrack the trial of a former governor of Abia state, Orji Uzor Kalu, over alleged N7.6bn fraud levelled against him by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
The leader of the coalition, Hon. Uche Okoroafor, at a press conference on Sunday in Abuja, said that Kalu was allegedly  plotting a “fake” foreign medical trip, adding that his agenda was to stall the further hearing of the case coming up tomorrow.
“We heard it on good authority that the former governor and his cohorts are working on another round of fake foreign medical trip in a fresh bid to frustrate his resumed hearing for the second time.
“He did it last year when he claimed to have gone to Germany a number of times  for medical treatment. We have since discovered that it was fake .
“Today, he wants to replay a similar game  to stall his resumed trial and we are saying enough is enough,” the coalition said.
Hon. Okoroafor urged the court to keep to its last decision to give accelerated hearing to the suit.
