LDFA organizes soccer competition to mark Nigeria’s independence

Ifalade Oyekan, the LFDA Chairman, told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Friday that 100 pupils from 10 private and public secondary schools in Lagos would take part in the competition.

He said that 20 teams would be formed from the participating schools and the teams would play on knock-out basis.

The chairman said that 50 young outstanding players would be selected from the tournament and presented to the LSFA Technical Committee for nurturing.

Oyekan said the competition, sponsored by the Lagos Channel Management Limited, was part of activities to mark Nigeria’s Independence Day celebration on Oct. 1.

According to him, the competition is also one of our collaborations with the Lagos State Football (LSFA) in line with the one goal project. (NAN)
