Leaders and all other Nigerians have been urged to emulate the humility, honesty and other good attributes of former Prime Minister Abubakar Tafawa Balewa.
The call was made by various personalities who were present at a special prayer held yesterday for the late Prime Minister at his residence.
Speaking to journalists after the prayer, Wazirin Bauchi, Alhaji Bello Kirfi said that the late Prime Minister was humility and honesty personified.
According to him, Tafawa Balewa lived a life that should be copied by leaders in order to discharge their responsibilities for the benefit of their people.
He lamented that most of the leaders who succeeded the first generation of Nigeria’s leadership have neglected the philosophy of servant leadership epitomised by the likes of Balewa, Sir Ahmadu Bello Sardauna Sokoto and others.
Also speaking, the eldest son of the late Prime Minister, Alhaji Baba Abubakar Tafawa Balewa said that their father has taught them about what life entails.
