Ahiazu Patriotic Front(APF), a coalition of community based organisations, youth and women groups, has called on politicians clamouring for positions of leadership in the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in the local government to do so without undue bickering and within the limits of decency and law.
In a statement signed by Emmanuel Diala, its Secretary General, APF stated that the current tussle about apex leadership is an unnecessary distraction.
It therefore called on the politicians to sheath their swords and embrace dialogue.
The group expressed confidence on the leadership style of the party leadership under Chief Ethelbert Ugwu whom they described as a youth friendly political gadfly who abhores hypocrisy and injustice.
The group asked those who are bent on using the fight for apex leadership to undermine the office of the party chairman to desist from doing so any further or risk the wrath of the youth.
APF described a section of political class in the LGA as addicted to politics of entitlement and exposed them as ganging up because the are now unsure that they will have their way in the next dispensation.
The group expressed optimism that these politicians would yield to wise counsel and come together to work with each other to advance the progressive agenda under the leadership of Governor Hope Uzodimma.
