In a statement made available to journalists in Lagos by LearnAfrica Education Development Foundation, it said it would look out for outstanding candidates and their schools nationwide.
The foundation also urged governments and other stakeholders to support the reward system, which it instituted in 2012.
LearnAfrica also applauded what it called “significant improvement” in the performance of students and the reduction in the incidence of examination malpractice in 2013 NECO examination, attributing it to quality teaching , hard work by students, availability of quality resources and seamless organization by the examination body.
“The results released recently by NECO indicated that about 70 percent of candidates obtained five credits and above – an improvement of about 18 percent when compared to the 2012 figure of about 52 percent,” said the foundation.
It said it was delighted that “students are taking up the challenge to perform at their optimum at the NECO examinations,” but said there was still room for improvement.
