Speaking to Feverpitch yesterday on phone, the former Flying Eagles coach said he was approached by at least six top clubs in the Nigeria Premier League but he was more interested in staying back in Pillars.

He said he was left with no other option than to leave Pillars when the club could not meet up with his financial demands.

According to him, Pillars management could not meet up with even half of what the other clubs offered him and so he was left with no choice but to go to the highest bidder.

Bosso explained that in as much as Pillars were not able to meet up with his monetary demands which he said were not unreasonable, the club also set very high targets for him to meet.

He said on the other hand, his present club, Wikki Tourists appeared more realistic in their target as what they demanded from him is consolidation on its promotion and then a continental ticket in the 2013/2014 season.

“It was not an easy decision for me to leave Pillars. This is a club I love so much and would have loved to stay and work due to the fantastic atmosphere the fans offer during matches but I had to leave because the club could not meet up with my demands.

“I made a request for a little adjustment in my entitlements but the club seemed not keen on looking into my demands in this respect. Meanwhile, I had more than six suitors and in the end, I had to go to the highest bidder.

“Meanwhile, Wikki Tourists which has offered me more did not set the kind of target that Pillars set for me. It’s good to have targets but it is also better to have realistic targets. Targets without the needed wherewithal is dangerous”.

Bosso however reiterated that it was not easy leaving Pillars as he had to convey his decision to the General Manager through a text message because he found it hard to walk up to him with such a decision.

“It was a difficult one. Alhaji Abba Galadima is like a father to me. I could not meet him face to face to tell him of my decision to leave Pillars. I had to send him a text. I am happy with the way the management responded to my decision to leave”.
