Lee group steel, footwear and plastics industry has donated several of the company’s products to over 2, 000 less privileged in Dan Zaki and Jogana in Gezawa local government area of Kano state.

The items donated to the communities include soap, slippers and bread worth thousands of naira, Kano Chronicle, observed.

Addressing the beneficiaries, one of the Company’s Directors, Alhaji Ahmed Haruna Danzago, said apart from the provision of job opportunities to members of the two host communities, the company  find it necessary, under its corporate social responsibility scheme, to also donate to the communities every month.

“The company has been donating its products worth hundreds of thousands of naira to less privileged in the host communities in appreciation to the hospitality it enjoys from them,” Danzago said.

Responding, Village Head of Dan Zaki, Malam Musa Bala described the gesture as timely, saying the donation would alleviate the sufferings of the beneficiaries especially in the present economic recession.

Bala urged other companies to emulate Lee Group by extending such humanitarian gesture to their host communities.
