The National Institute for Legislative and Democratic Studies (NILDS) has charged federal and state lawmakers, as well as workers in the various assemblies to take empowerment and regular training as a priority.

The Director-General of NILDS, Prof. Abubakar Sulaiman, who gave this charge while hosting a delegation from Benue State House of Assembly Service Commission, led by its chairman, Dr. Sylvester Atachin, noted that the importance of the legislature to democracy cannot be overemphasised.
