Politicians are expected to exhibit spirit of sportsmanship by cooperating with another even if they lose elections and irrespective of party of affiliations.
The First Republic witnessed a high level of political tolerance.
The late Sir Ahmadu Bello, Nmandi Azikiwe, Chief Obafemi Awolowo and Mallam Aminu Kano, all worked hard for the growth of the country.
It will be good for present day politicians to emulate these past leaders.
