Letter to Governor Kashim Shettima

The governor has awarded a contract to renovate the administrative blocks, classrooms, hostel and staff quarters as well as building a ultra modern ICT Centre, among others, to enable students learn computer application.
Apart from improving the basic amenities, he also changed their feeding style in order to encourage the students to feel at home, could you believe today in Borno State students are not allowed to carry food stuffs from their home to school anymore? Am very impressed to find out that students were now served with Tea and Bread or Stew and Bread during breakfast while during Lunch and Dinner they are serve with delicious food unlike the so-called (Gabza) that used to be served in the past, kudos to the Feeding Committee of GGSS Miringa. Also the Governor on his effort to encourage the students especially Girl Child Education in the State, he urged the School Authorities all over to exercise discipline free during hostels hours as well as to give fora for pupils to form some interactive associations between the Teachers and Students i.e. like Press Club etc. Apart from that the Governor extends his kind gesture to all the secondary Schools across the State by approving Transport Fee for students during holidays to enable go back to their destinations. Thank God now our younger ones are happy being in school because everything has improved.
Secondly, as an indigene of Miringa District, I am particularly concerned about the quality of work done in the Government Girls Secondary School Miringa, especially the Staff Quarters. They used sub-standard materials, even the painting is beginning to be washed away by the rain. Also the quality of aluminum roofing can’t stand the test of time. Well to mention but a few even the doors and windows were still the old ones that was build with it, please we are in the modern world, there are a lot of security doors out there that can pay the price, at least for the safety of the teachers they need to be replaced.
Sir, you need to order for the constitution of PTA Committee to look into the on-going work which may be comprised members of your party and some trustworthy elders in the town to supervised and access the work done, from what I saw for myself at the Government College Maiduguri when I visited the State in recent time the level of work carried out there is perfect and was far ahead of that Government Girls Secondary School Miringa and I believe if it is not the issue of poor funding, then there is a foul play in the job which to me is a selfishness of the contractors and a total sabotage to scuttled the effort you are putting to revived our schools back to shape that would remain the legacy of your administration to be remembered upon till eternity.
Your Excellency Sir, we are indeed grateful to you for what you have been doing for us. Lastly, I wish to remind you again that Government Day Secondary School Miringa still lack examination hall and a laboratory. I pray to Almighty Allah to give you the ability to look into our cry.
