Dear graduates, the rate of graduation from public and private institutions is rapidly increasing. Governments may not be able to handle such a magnificent number and employ them into the public sector. One should look after veritable skills, as the country faces a horrible economic downturn, therefore, every graduate should find a specific field of learning so that things will turn out beneficial.
It is pertinent to note that given Nigeria’s current economic structure, the government is no longer reliable as a job provider to our teeming graduates and it may soon be difficult to overcome the great challenge of unemployment in the country. The private sector is also facing various challenges for it to serve as an alternative
Security analysts have described the phenomenon as a threat to Nigeria’s security as the situation can lead the youths being recruited into crime.
Thus it is pertinent for today’s graduates to consider other opportunities available that would enable them to engage meaningfully, providing for themselves instead of waiting for the government to provide jobs for them.
It is high time for graduates to cross into the field of learning skills to develop themselves.
Finally, there is no gain in staying idle, especially by capable graduates, who have the theoretical aspect, as adding skills will help them to organise their lives. Learning viable skills can help to develop Nigeria’s economy and keep the graduates away from unlawful acts.
