Letter to the acting Corps Marshal of FRSC

I would like to, first of all, congratulate you (Mr. Dauda Biu) on your new appointment as the acting Corps Marshal of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC). We wish you the best as you take up the top position in the life-saving task and we are so hopeful that you will come up with new policies to minimise frequent collisions on Nigeria’s roads and highways.

Sir, as a concerned citizen, I wish to bring to your notice a very serious problem afflicting the FRSC, RS12:11 Azare Unit Command, located at Gadau road of the Katagum LGA of Bauchi State.

Being situated nearby the Maiduguri-Kano highway where accidents are becoming  recurring incidents, this FRSC Unit Command is in desperate need of a new patrol vehicle since the one they have is unserviceable. It was given to the Unit Command in  2003.

Sir, this old patrol car covers five LGAs in Bauchi North and it cannot effectively cover the areas now.

Thus, because of the condition of the vehicle, the unit finds it difficult to evacuate accident victims to the nearest health facility.

Therefore, on behalf of the entire people of Bauchi North, including the FRSC RS12:11 Azare Unit Command, I appeal to the acting Corps Marshal to help provide a new patrol vehicle and  an emergency ambulance to the unit to make its officers’ task of saving lives easier.

Mustapha Baba Azare, Alkali Musa Street, Bauchi State,
