Leventis Foundation Nigeria has marked 30 years of its Agric Training School, with the provision of free agriculture and vocational education to thousands of Nigerians.
The foundation, owned and sponsored Agric Training School which offered one-year and short-term free training to students, during which the trainees were fed and given monthly allowance of N3,000 each.
The school, which has trained over 5,000 people since inception, has 102 trainees set to graduate in December 2018.
At the 30th anniversary held in Dogon Dawa, Birnin-Gwari, Kaduna State, the principal of the school, Mr. Adebayo Aworeni Awotodunbo, said the foundation has identified agriculture as the most important sector of the Nigerian economy in terms of sustainable employment, provision of raw materials for industries as well as provision of food for the citizenry.
