A businessman in Zamfara State, known as Alhaji Shamsuddeen Sani Dahiru, and the Sole Administrator of Talata Mafara LGA of the state, Alhaji Abubakar Musa, are bickering over the ownership of a rich gold mining field in Talata Mafara LGA of the state.
Alhaji Dahiru, who is the Managing Director of Metro-Bright Merchants situated at Sauna in Talata Mafara LGA, accused the sole administrator of the local council of forcefully taking over his mining field.

He told newsmen yesterday that the exploration license was given to him by the Mining Cadastre Office, Federal Ministry of Mines and Solid Minerals Development in 2017 and renewed in 2020.
“I have reported him to Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps and the Federal Mining Officer in the state.
“The mining officer has gone there to see what was actually happening and he drew the attention of the sole administrator to the fact that site was owned by me,” he added.
When contacted, the Sole Administrator of the Talata Mafara LGA, Alhaji Abubakar Musa told Daily Trust Saturday that he was not mining gold at the site, adding security operatives were only deployed to secure the place.
