The Chairman, Kano Municipal Council of Kano State, Faizu Alfindiki, has pledged to rebuild the 44 shops consumed by inferno at Kurmi market last Monday.
Alfindiki who announced the gesture on Wednesday, during a sympathy visit to the affected market located in the state metropolis, also donated N2 million to affected traders.
According to him, the donation was to alleviate the sufferings of the victims to restart their day to day businesses.
The chairman described the fire incident as a disaster that consumed valuable worth millions of naira, especially in bookshops area of the market.
He prayed to almighty Allah to prevent future occurrence of such incident.
The chairman, Kurmi market Association, Alhaji Ya’u Karas, appreciated the gesture by, adding that it would enable them bounced back.
