Adaranijo was alleged to have tendered a School Leaving Certificate belonging to his late brother, Lawal Adaranijo, to go through screening conducted by the security agencies and the Action Congress (AC) when he contested as a councellor in Ward K in Agege Local Government in the 1997 polls.

Chairman, Liberation Congress, Lagos State, Mr. Balogun Adekunle, who addressed a press conference in Lagos, said he has already petitioned the Inspector General of Police, Mr. Ogbona Onovo, on the matter, adding that the briefing was to ensure that the allegations are not swept under the carpet.

But Adaranijo denied all, saying he is ready to face any probe regarding all his credentials, denying the allegation that one Lawal Adaranijo described as his late brother did not exist as alleged by his detractors.

He challenged the group to bring out the specimen of the certificate being referred to as forged for the public to see, adding that the Inspector General of Police has sent police to his office for investigation of the allegations.

He asked them to come out with proof of evidence that he actually had forged the certificate

He said if they failed to do that, he would drag them to court to prove his innocence.

“Yes these are lies and false accusations against me. This is the handiwork of my detractors who are hiding under fake names but they should come out with proof,” he said.
