The Adamawa State Government has announced plans to upgrade the Fufore Cottage Hospital to a full-fledged General Hospital in a bid to expand access to quality healthcare services for residents of the area and neighbouring communities.

Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri made the announcement on Saturday, January 7, 2026, while commissioning the newly completed hospital in Fufore Local Government Area.

The Governor was accompanied by his Deputy, Professor Kaletapwa George Farauta; the Senator representing Adamawa Central, Aminu Iya Abbas; and other top government officials and dignitaries.

He stressed that improving both primary and tertiary healthcare infrastructure remains a top priority of his government.

Governor Fintiri disclosed that the hospital would soon be upgraded to a General Hospital, enabling it to provide secondary healthcare services to residents of Fufore Local Government Area and neighbouring border communities with the Republic of Cameroon.

The Governor also inspected the facility, touring the hospital under the guidance of the Principal Medical Officer, Dr. Dibal Denis.

Following the commissioning ceremony, Governor Fintiri paid a courtesy visit to the Emir of Fufore, Alhaji Sani Ahmadu Ribadu, who commended the Governor for the developmental strides recorded in the state, particularly in Fufore Local Government Area.
