Kumbotso Local Government Council of Kano State has empowered 1, 003 youths with N10million, seven cars, 10 motorcycles, the chairman of the council, Hassan Garba Kauye Farawa, has said.
The council chair made the statement while distributing the intervention to the beneficiaries during the third batch empowerment scheme organised by the local government.

He explained that the council has also constructed new primary and junior secondary schools with over 3, 000 seats distributed to various schools in the council.
In her address, the wife of the state governor, Hajiya Hafsat Ganduje, commended the efforts of the local council chairman for giving priority to females among the beneficiaries of the empowerment.
She also called on women to embrace education as a key to sustainable societal development.
The first lady also urged for inclusive engagement in the state’s fight against drug abuse, especially among youths.
