The renewal of the marriage vow was the hallmark of the of the silver jubilee which held at the headquarters of the church in Oshodi, Lagos State.Rev Adegbe who is the founder of Life-Gate International Ministries, which started in 1996, and now has branches in Lagos and Abuja.
At the event, Rev Adegbe described his wife, Pastor (Mrs) Adegbe as “a rare gem”.
A smiling Adegbe stood tall before the congregation to re-dedicate himself to greater care and love for Mrs. Mary Adegbe.
While conducting the vow, Bishop Abraham Olaleye said the ceremony was a “public testament that 25 years after, the couple is not tired and the oil of love is still lubricating the marriage.”
He urged them to devote themselves to even greater level of intimacy to enjoy the blessings of the union better.
The guest minister, Pastor Ibrahim Alfa, commended the couple for standing by each other in the past 25 years, saying staying together in those years was impressive in view of the rising cases of divorce among gospel ministers.
Alfa advised church leaders to take care of their spouses and not neglect them on the pretence of working for God. He recalled how he was so busy in the first 20 years of his marriage, saying the experience was not palatable until he had a change of mind.
His words, “If you want to live long, if you want to enjoy your life, if you want to live life to the fullest, be close to your wife. If you are treating your wife well and she is praying for you, everything you touch will move forward”.
He stated that gospel ministers must guard themselves against adultery, pointing out that “the woman in your house is more beautiful than the second-hand woman you are running after”.
The congregation clapped excitedly as the couple cut the cake and kissed passionately, confirming that old flames do not die.
