The president and founder of Human Rights Radio and Television, Ahmad Isah of the Brekete Family, says lightning has damaged some facilities at the radio station. 

Isah, popularly called Ordinary President, said the transmitter, inverters, audio mixers and video editing/mixing machines were among the electrical gadgets damaged by lightning.  He said no life was lost in the incident. 

“Thunder and lightning damaged the electric step-down transformer which also supplies electricity to Human Rights Radio in Abuja and triggered very high voltage that burnt many equipment,” he said. 

He said the lightning happened at the weekend during a torrential rainfall while radio transmission was on. 

He however said the station was repairing the damaged equipment to ensure normal transmission at the radio station. 

The station, 101.1 FM advocates the protection of residents’ human rights.
